     Birth 2nd Q 1855 Walsall 6b 539d no nonsense from the children. Frederick was unhappy in the leather trade and Sarahs pressure on him proba>d by her parents, Joseph and Mary.. By her age and birthdate this is more likely to be in 1936.
Family (all bar Dorothy) called themselves "Hildick-Smith". Was a very fierce lady, who stood no nonsense from her children and grandchildren. This may account for her split with Frederick. She had to>
    bring up the children on her own and was well supported by her father.
The family seemed to spend time at Gospel Oak-see Hildick records.
According to Monas letter she seems to have died in 1936 or 1944 although this has not been verified.

     Born Walsall.e of the 1881 census he is listed as Grocer, his son is an iron tube manafacturer and they remained at the>icks.Also living with them were Sarah and Frederick Smith together with their children. He had inherited th>ly close as there were other nearer relations who could have inherited.here he met his wife to be Jessie.s he served 3 terms). He inherited Gospel Oak Farm from a "cousin" who had rebuilt it and lived there until>n was probably one of the sons of Moses 1778 or his wife Martha who was herself a Hildick. The sons never ma>hen John died the farm was sold either because the 3 children were dead or were in other trades.

1851 C living on his own in Walsall.
1861 C living at 61, Stafford Street Walsall
Jones mercantile directory 1865 lists him as a grocer at that address in Walsall. By the time of the 1881 C he was at Gospel Oak having inherited farms from Joseph Robert Hildick b1833 his cousin who>
    remained unmarried.
By 1891 he was a farmer and iron tube manafacturer living at Gospel Oak House, Lapworth, Warwick.He was dead by 1901as Jessie was by then living there alone

John was sent to Isle of Man for a holiday with a letter of introduction to Joseph Torrance whose daughter he married.
Married 8/9/1852 Non Conformist Ref D A1 32 Douglas IOM.His father started him at Hildick and Hildick Pipes:
He was very succesful and served as Mayor of Walsall twice ( 1867 and 1868
He died in?1895. Jessie lived there until her death in ?1905. The farm was passed onto his son John 1857 who married and had 3 children. Death ref Solihull 6d 420 Buried in Lapworth at St Marys.
